AccuGray technology provides you with the cleanest, sharpest imagery output.
GCC printers that offer AccuGray deliver truly accurate halftones, regardless of
screen frequency or resolution.
What is AccuGray? In true technical terms, it is a proprietary
grayscale enhancement technology which incorporates a sophisticated software algorithm embedded
in the PostScript® interpreter that compensates for the non-linear response of
any laser printer. But since you're probably more of a graphics professional than an engineer,
all you really need to know is this: with AccuGray, GCC printers deliver truly
accurate halftones regardless of screen frequency or resolution.
In all printers, the tiny dots that comprise an image
accumulate extra toner around their outer edge. This is called dot gain. The higher the
resolution, or the darker the area of an image, the more unwanted toner can accumulate. This
significantly reduces the fine detail of the image. Enter GCC's AccuGray.
AccuGray compensates for dot gain because it knows the exact relationship
between gray level and screen frequency. The result is clearly illustrated in the images and
shows why GCC printers with AccuGray should be your choice for pre-press,
proofing and serious graphics work.
